Summer Camps

Our camps are a wonderful opportunities for kids of all ages to learn how to ride and care for a horse, while having lots of fun and learning many skills. Each camper has their own horse for the duration of their stay. With that horse they will participate in daily riding lessons to ensure safety and skill development. Our second ride of the day is all about having fun so we go trail riding, play games on horseback or bareback. Off the horses, we keep our campers busy with a wide variety of games and crafts throughout the evening. Each day is jam packed with exciting activities that are sure to be the source of many entertaining stories long after the week is over.

MVA Camp Basics:

Our summer camps have been capturing the imaginations of kids since 1987. Camps begin Monday morning and campers stay until Saturday after noon. Check out our accommodation and menu pages for more details. During their week of camp, students are exposed to a wide variety of fun activities that will surly make camp the highlight of their summer. Besides, who would not want the chance to get their own horse or pony for an entire week?

GamesHorse Activities:
In each week, students ride twice a day. Once in a formal riding lesson where skills are learned and/or developed. Unlike most "lessons" these riding lessons are usually everyone's favorite activity because they learn to do things they never thought they could. The second ride of the day is always a fun activity such as trail riding, playing games on horseback or bare backing. MVA strongly believes that riders should learn both the serious and fun sides to horseback riding and care so all students are exposed to as much horse knowledge as possible.

Non-Horse Activities: playing
Since campers spend a week at MVA, we've made sure that there is no lack of entertainment. When we aren't off on an adventure with our horses we are playing games, making crafts or enjoying ourselves around a campfire.

Below you'll find the themes associated with each of our weeks this summer. These themes do not change the basic principles of camp (as listed above) but simply offer campers a chance to explore a new area of horsemanship or delve deeper into an area of interest.

We look forward to seeing you soon!
